She shone bright, like the sun.
Filling the world with joy and fun.
He was dull, like the moon.
Filling the world with nothing new.
Yet, he fell for the sun.
And she, then, for him, came undone.
Days, nights come and go.
One two one and one two zero.
She then felt a shiver,
And found him behind the trigger.
Through emotionless eyes,
He shot her out of the blue skies.
"Why this?" she had asked him,
As her once sparkling eyes grew dim.
"I feel nothing for you."
Hurtful words, and painfully true.
Her sad eyes filled with tears.
This was one among her worst fears.
Not once did their eyes meet,
Yet she shared her last bit of heat.
"I love you, always will."
And the moon knelt down by his kill.
"I don't deserve your love."
The moon was selfish on his part.
"You're right, you really don't.
But who told you I would condone?"
"Who said I wouldn't fight?
Who gave you claim of my own right?"
The moon did not answer,
Leaving all questions unanswered.
Color has left her face.
Only she could die with such grace.
The darkness now cascades.
"No one," he says, and the shine fades.
